Quantum mechanics disagreements

·

When we talked about theories alternative to quantum mechanics, I referred to the below video explaining how quantum trajectory theory was experimentally verified.

What Happens During a Quantum Jump?

Below is the actual paper that was published based on the experiment. They used qubits to achieve this result

Basically, they are saying that it seems that there is not really a quantum jump but it is a continuous transition suggesting that the process may be driven by a deterministic process.

One of the examples that you mentioned in our meeting was that most deterministic interpretations of quantum mechanics proved wrong due to hidden variables. de Broglie-Bohm theory (Bohmian Mechanics) was originally thought wrong for the same reason but it later turned out that the argument about hidden variables only applied to local hidden variables. Below video describes the idea.

Pilot Wave Theory and Quantum Realism | Space Time | PBS Digital Studios

What’s interesting about PBS Space Time channel is that they reveal strong disagreements between physicists at the time quantum mechanics was born with Shrodinger taking the wave side and Bohr taking the particle camp. The language that is found in some of the papers is quite radical. To this day, there are people who argue that the non-deterministic nature of the universe is BS.

Please see below videos that show authors of the fundamental papers that lay down the foundation of modern physics having strong disagreement. The modern theory is somewhat a compromise between the two camps.

⚛ Quantum Mechanics is wrong and anyone can see exactly why‼ (he actually tries to disrupt the double slit experiment with a heat gun implying that if there were a superposition state – the noisy thermal environment would have destroyed it according to decoherence theory)

⚠ Fake Quantum Computers⁉ – Quantum Computing Hype for Beginners

It seems that he might just be trolling the audience as it seems he is making a lot of basic physics mistakes in his videos but I like his attention to scientific papers – he actually bothered to read these papers.

He claims that quantum computers dont work and are BS
